Upcoming Elections
Eastlake Little League Members,
The Board of Directors is responsible for the management of the property and affairs of the League. In preparation for the upcoming election cycle for the Eastlake Little League Board of Directors, the League is opening its candidacy declaration period to all eligible and interested Members. The declaration period will run from 03AUG2023 to 17AUG2023. To declare candidacy for a position, an eligible Member must submit an email to elections@eastlake-ll.com before 11:59PM 17AUG2023. The email shall include the candidate’s name, desired position, and a candidate bio describing the candidate’s experience and qualifications to serve the League and its Members.
The election of the Board of Directors shall be held electronically beginning 22AUG2023 until 29AUG2023, with results announced within a week of vote closure. After the election, the Board of Directors shall assume the performance of its duties on October 1st.
In addition to the unique duties of each position, the League heavily relies on each Director for regular volunteer service throughout the year. Directors are also heavily relied upon to recruit coordinators and other volunteers necessary to successfully operate the League. The time commitments are immense, the work is hard, but the dedication to administer a top-notch League for the children of our community is cherished.
Following are the positions up for election in the 2023 Eastlake Little League election cycle. Two of these positions, the Vice President of Baseball Operations and the Senior Player Agent, are being filled via a special election to complete the remainder of a two-year term.

President
Eligibility
To be eligible for election as President, a Member must have served as a League Director for a minimum of two terms.

Expected Duties

Conduct the affairs of the Local League and execute the policies established by the Board of Directors.

Present a report of the condition of the Local League at the Annual Meeting.

Communicate to the Board of Directors such matters as deemed appropriate and make such suggestions as may tend to promote the welfare of the Local League.

Be responsible for the conduct of the Local League in strict conformity to the policies, principles, and Rules and Regulations of Little League Baseball, Incorporated as agreed to under the conditions of charter issued to the Local League by that organization.

Designate in writing other officers, if necessary, to have power to make and execute for and in the name of the Local League such contracts and leases they may receive and which have had prior approval of the Board.

Investigate complaints, irregularities, and conditions detrimental to the Local League and report thereon to the Board as circumstances warrant.

Prepare and submit an annual budget to the Board of Directors and be responsible for the proper execution thereof.

With the assistance of the Player Agent, examine the application and support proof-of age documents of every player candidate and certify to the residence and age eligibility before the player may be accepted for tryouts and selection.

Represent Eastlake Little League at District 42 events.
Vice President of Baseball Operation
Overview
The Vice President of Baseball Operations is responsible for ensuring successful operation of all baseball-related League activities by creating a team of volunteers to administer the various divisions of Eastlake Little League and other necessary baseball-related duties.
Eligibility
To be eligible for election as Vice President of Baseball Operations, a Member must have served as a League Director for a minimum of one term.

Expected Duties

Oversee the operation of baseball activities of the Local League.

Serve as the Coaching Coordinator for the Local League.

Nominate officers and/or coordinators as described in the Bylaws of the Local League.

Nominate league commissioners and/or other officials to assist in the baseball operation of the Local League.

Propose the creation and/or assembly of committees as described in the Bylaws of the Local League.

Perform such duties as from time to time may be assigned by the Board of Directors or by the President.
Vice President of Facilities
Overview
The Vice President of Facilities is responsible for successfully and safely providing proper conditions for all League facilities. Their primary function is to upkeep the playing fields for all divisions of play.
Eligibility
To be eligible for election as Vice President of Facilities, a Member must have served as a League Director for a minimum of one term.

Expected Duties

Oversee the use, development, and maintenance of the League’s facilities.

Nominate a Head Groundskeeper upon position vacancy.
Note: In the absence of a Head Groundskeeper, the VP of Facilities must perform this function. -
Propose the creation and/or assembly of committees as described in the Bylaws of the Local League.

Perform such duties as from time to time may be assigned by the Board of Directors or by the President.
Secretary
Overview
The League Secretary is responsible for recording the activities of the Local League and maintaining appropriate files, mailing lists, and necessary records.
Eligibility
To be eligible for election as Secretary, a Member must have served as a League Director for a minimum of one term.

Expected Duties

Be responsible for recording the activities of the Local League and maintain appropriate files, mailing lists, and necessary records.

Perform such duties as are herein specifically set forth, in addition to such other duties as are customarily incident to the office of Secretary or as may be assigned by the Board of Directors.

Maintain a list of all Regular Members, Directors, and committee members and give notice of all meetings of the Local League, the Board of Directors, and committees. .
-
Keep the minutes of the meetings of the Members, the Board of Directors, and the Executive Committee, and cause them to be recorded for that purpose.

Conduct all correspondence not otherwise specifically delegated in connection with said meeting and shall be responsible for carrying out all orders, votes, and resolutions not otherwise committed.

Notify Members, Directors, Officers, and committee members of their election or appointment.
-
Serve as the Chairperson of the Review Board.
Player Agent (Senior)
Overview
The Senior Player Agent is tasked with overseeing all aspects of the management of playing members of the League.
Eligibility
To be eligible for election as Senior Player Agent, a Member must have served as a League Director for one term.

Expected Duties

Record all player transactions and maintain an accurate and up-to-date record thereof.

Receive and review applications for player candidates and assist the President in verifying residence and age eligibility.

Conduct the player assessments, the player draft, and all other player transaction or selection meetings.

Prepare the Player Agent’s list.

Prepare for the President’s signature and submission to Little League Headquarters team rosters, including players claimed, and the tournament team eligibility affidavit.

Notify Little League Headquarters of any subsequent player replacements or trades.
Player Agent (Junior)
Overview
The Junior Player is tasked with assisting the Senior Player Agent’s management of playing members of the League.
Note: In the event that the Senior Player Agent separates from the Board of Directors, the Junior Player Agent shall assume the Senior Player Agent Role.

Safety Officer
Overview
The Safety Officer is responsible for the education, development, and implementation of a League safety play.

Expected Duties

Be responsible to create awareness, through education and information, of the opportunities to provide a safer environment for children and all participants of Little League Baseball.

Develop and implement a plan for increasing safety of activities, equipment, and facilities through education, compliance and reporting. NOTE: In order to implement a safety plan using education, compliance, and reporting, the following suggestions may be utilized by the Safety Officer:

Education – Should facilitate meetings and distribute information among participants including players, managers, coaches, umpires, league officials, parents, guardians, and other volunteers.

Compliance – Should promote safety compliance leadership by increasing awareness of the safety opportunities that arise from these responsibilities.

Reporting – Define a process to assure that incidents are recorded, information is sent to league/district and national offices, and followup information on medical and other data is forwarded as available.
